So, remember how I promised I wouldn't be posting at all, intermittently, periodically, throughout the week until the 18th? Yeah, I'm lying.
Linkage is up.
Jon Coulter's is this musician who proclaims in song about the woes of nerds everywhere. Code Monkey is a paean, or rather a lament, of the love happenings of coders isolated in their cubicles. A love story or geek emo-ness, you decide. It's animated using WOW characters to add another layer of geektasticness.
Next is a deleted scene from Kill Bill 2 with Bill & Beatrix taking a stroll through town. It's an homage to the really bad acting of the old kung fu films. Whether you like Quentin Tarrantino or not, it's a fun scene.
Purcell is the only guy to have written an opera I enjoy in its entirety. This excerpt is from Dido & Aeneas, one of the very rare operas written entirely in English. This part is after Aeneas leaves, and Dido prepares to kill herself. It's sung by Kirsten Flagstad, who nails the emotion perfectly. "Thy hand, Belinda, darkness shades me: / On thy bosom let me rest". Not to mention the desperate, "Remember me!"
Four video is from this video circulating on YouTube. Stanford Men's Vball team comes off the hit with an amazing dig and an unbelievable set for the kill.
Last is UPenn's Off The Beat, an acapella group. They're famous for doing songs that nobody else does, like Coheed & Cambria, and for their conductor, who looks like he's having a grand mal seizure or something. Here they do a rendition of Imogen Heap's final ballad, The Moment I Said It, and they capture every note perfectly.
